Programme (pdf)
This year, the Vienna Global History Group dedicates its activities to the theme of (im)mobilities. We aim to expand our understanding of mobility – the movement of people, goods, and ideas – and to reflect on how global historians can better engage with immobility, disconnection, and structural constraints.
The workshop features a wide range of contributions that approach (im)mobility from empirical, theoretical, and methodological angles – encouraging critical conversations on both the role and the limits of mobility in global history.
The event is organized in cooperation with the Research Cluster “State, Politics, and Governance in Historical Perspective” of the Doctoral School of Historical and Cultural Studies.
