This year, the Vienna Global History Group (FSP) has dedicated its academic focus to the topic of "Intersecting Inequalities". In a world where discussions on social, economic, and cultural disparities are at the forefront of academic discourse and societal concern, our workshop aims to delve deep into the historical roots and contemporary ramifications of these intersecting inequalities. Since the conclusion of the Cold War, inequalities have demonstrated a global interconnection, weaving through societies both in the Global North and the Global South, as well as in the East and the West. Understanding these complexities requires a nuanced historical perspective, one that examines the long-term evolution of inequalities and their varying configurations across different temporal and spatial contexts.
