- Research on the history of the nobility and the bourgeoisie in the Habsburg Monarchy,
- social underclasses and social exclusion and discipline (penitentiaries and workhouses),
- the history of the city,
- on the creation of identity and ideology in the context of the culture of remembrance (anniversaries, memorial days, festivals)
- and on architecture and society.
- Many years of experience in teacher training (journal ‘Historische Sozialkunde’; political education).
